Nació en Teesside, Inglaterra, Jonathan ha obtenido matrícula de honor en el Real Conservatorio Superior de Gales bajo la dirección de los maestros John Mills, Graham Antony Devine, Helen Sanderson, Steve Gordon y Elefethria Kotzia. En 2012 estudió en el Conservatorio Superior Centro de Finlandia y en 2017 obtuvo su Master con matrícula de honor en el Conservatorio de Baile y Música Trinity Laban.

Además de actuar a través de Europa, Jonathan ha actuado en lugares prestigiosos como Wigmore Hall, L’Auditori, Kings Place, Barbican, Museo de Bellas Artes (Madrid), St James´Piccadilly, Dora Stoutzker Hall, y para BBC Radio 3, IGF London Guitar Festival, Greenwich Early Music Festival y Greenwich International Guitar Festival.

Ha sido muy activo ayudando a promocionar música contemporánea para la guitarra clásica. Como un instrumento en solitario y como miembro de un conjunto musical, ha encargado y estrenado obras de Dr Robert Spearing, Graham Lynch, Michael Anthony Hughes, Alexander Corlett, Piawatt Louilarpprasert y Ben Lunn. Jonathan también es un miembro del What Guitar Trio, un trío de guitarras que están especializados en la actuación de música contemporánea a quien les han concedido el IGF Young Artist Platform 2017/2018. 

Durante sus estudios él ha actuado en clases magistrales con David Miller, Danijel Cerovic, Carlo Marchione, Sven Lundestad, Ian Watt, Sabrina Vlaskalic, Morgan Szymanski, Carlos Bonell, Heiki Matlik y Xuefei Yang.

Ganador de premios y finalista en numerosos concursos internacionales de guitarra, Jonathan está estableciendo rápidamente una reputación internacional entre colegas y expertos. Los éxitos incluyen; Concurso Festival Internacional de Guitarra Madrid 2020 – Finalista, Nuertingen Guitar Competition 2020 – Finalista, Encuentro Internacional de Guitarra Andrés Segovia 2019 – Finalista, Ivor Mariants Guitar Award – 3er Premio, London International Guitar Competition 2020 – 2do Premio, Certamen Miguel Llobet 2018 – 2do Premio y Premio del Público, Concurso Internacional de la Guitarra Raimundo – 1er Premio, Certamen Miguel Llobet 2020 – Premio Llobet.

 Jonathan también está agradecido por el apoyo de Leverhulme Trust, Joan Greenfield Trust, Countess of Munster Musical Trust, Peter Chase Award y Help Musicians’ Postgraduate Award.

Jonathan reside actualmente en Valencia, España y es profesor en el Conservatorio Ignacio Monzonis y la Escuela Superior de Música de Alto Rendimiento. Jonathan toca una guitarra Daniele Chiesa 2017.

Originally from Billingham, Teesside, Jonathan gained a 1st Class Honours Degree in classical guitar at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama under the tutorship of John Mills, Helen Sanderson, Steve Gordon and Elefethria Kotzia.  In 2012 Jonathan studied at the Conservatory of Music of Central Finland in Jyvaskyla with the guitarist and composer Kai Nieminen and in 2017 gained Masters with Distinction in performance Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

 As well as performing throughout Europe, Jonathan has performed at The Wigmore Hall, L’Auditori, Kings Place, Barbican, Mueso de Bellas Artes (Madrid), St James´Piccadilly, Dora Stoutzker Hall, and for BBC Radio 3, IGF London Guitar Festival, Greenwich Early Music Festival and Greenwich International Guitar Festival.

Jonathan has been active in helping to promote contemporary music on the guitar both as a solo and ensemble instrument by commissioning and premiering works by Dr Robert Spearing, Graham Lynch, Michael Anthony Hughes, Alexander Corlett, Piawatt Louilarpprasert and Ben Lunn. Jonathan is also a member of What Guitar Trio, a guitar trio which specializes in the performance of contemporary music which was on the IGF Young Artist Platform 2017/2018. 

A prize winner and finalist in numerous international guitar competitions Jonathan is quickly establishing an international reputation amongst peers and experts. Successes include; Concurso Festival Internacional de Guitarra Madrid 2020 – Finalist, Nuertingen Guitar Competition 2020 – Finalist, Encuentro International de Guitarra Andrés Segovia 2019 – Finalist, Ivor Mariants Guitar Award – 3rd Prize, London International Guitar Competition 2020 – 2nd Prize, Certamen Miguel Llobet 2018 – 2nd Prize and Public Prize,  Concurso Internacional de la Guitarra Raimundo – 1st Prize, Certamen Miguel Llobet 2020 – Llobet Prize.
