BIOGRAFÍA EN ESPAÑOL

Francisco Carbonell (Valencia, España) completó sus estudios de Composición en el Conservatorio Superior de Música de Valencia, donde también estudió Dirección de Orquesta y Órgano. Se trasladó a Roma para continuar sus estudios de Composición en el Pontificio Instituto de Música Sacra, donde obtuvo el máximo nivel de calificación, “Summa cum Laude”. También estudió Órgano, Canto Gregoriano, Piano, Liturgia, Latín y Dirección Coral en el mismo instituto. Ha sido miembro de la “Cappella Giulia”, el coro de la Basílica de San Pedro en Roma durante dos años. Se desempeñó como organista en muchas iglesias de Roma como la basílica papal de San Lorenzo o la iglesia del Panteón.

Francisco ha sido premiado en más de 20 concursos musicales alrededor del mundo, y su música ha sido interpretada en Australia, Inglaterra, Finlandia, Alemania, Italia, Noruega, Escocia, España y Estados Unidos por coros de prestigio como la Christ Church Cathedral de Oxford, The Australian Voices o el Metropolitan Chorus de Tokio. Ha recibido encargos de coros prestigiosos como el coro de la catedral de Christ Church en Oxford y el coro de la catedral de Christ Church en Bristol, Inglaterra.

Francisco ha sido miembro del jurado en concursos internacionales de coral y composición en Italia (Concurso Coral Internacional de Rimini 2015 y Corinfesta 2019). Está cursando su doctorado en el Pontificio Instituto de Música Sacra de Roma con una tesis sobre la música sacra de Francis Poulenc.

Francisco Carbonell (Valencia, Spain) completed his studies in Composition at the Conservatory of Music of Valencia, where we also studied Orchestra Conducting and Organ. He moved to Rome to continue his studies in Composition at the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music, where he obtained the highest level of qualification, “Summa cum Laude”. He also studied Organ, Gregorian Chant, Piano, Liturgy, Latin and Choral Conducting at the same institute. He has been a member of the “Cappella Giulia”, the choir of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome for two years. He served as an organist in many churches in Rome like the papal basilica of St. Lawrence or the church of the Pantheon.

Francisco has been awarded in more than 20 music competitions around the world, and his music has been performed in Australia, England, Finland, Germany, Italy, Norway, Scotland, Spain and United States by prestigious choirs like Christ Church Cathedral in Oxford , The Australian Voices or the Metropolitan Chorus of Tokyo. He has been commissioned by prestigious choirs like the Christ Church cathedral choir in Oxford and the Christ Church cathedral choir in Bristol, England.

Francisco has been member of the jury in international choral and composition competitions in Italy (Rimini International Choral Competition 2015 and Corinfesta 2019). He is pursuing his doctoral degree at the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music in Rome with a thesis on the sacred music of Francis Poulenc.
